In support of Miami's electronic dance music sensation Panic Bomber making his debut performance in London, the C4DM Presents crew concieved and constructed the Panic Blaster - a video fx device that allows the user to "blast" anything. This video explains how it works in more detail.

Instigative Heads at Shunt Lounge

C4DM Presents collaborated with Alla Tkachuk to create Instigative Heads. The piece was exhibited at Shunt Lounge during the last week of March and first week of April.

The piece consists of Alla's Tkachuk 3D painted and animated works and projected on to a wall. A generative music composition by Time Murray Brown accompanied the projection. Proximity sensors were also used to control the musical program as people moved around the space (thanks to the work of Steve Welburn and Enrique Perez Gonzalez). Steve Welburn also handled the video processing and syncronization as well as taking these great pictures.

Digi-vu at Shunt Lounge

From June 11th-14th C4DM Presents returned to the 'long corridor' in Shunt Lounge with an entirely new installation. Digi-vu was an exploration of time, perception, and digital reality. The subject hears his own voice as if it were echoing back from some infinite digital mountain range; and then is confronted by his quantized self and soon after his own digital past. The installation was rather successful in engaging audience. Some individuals even turned it into a performance piece - improvising elaborate dances in front of the digital mirrors. Digi-vu was a collaborative effort by Dan Stowell, Steve Welburn, Adam Stark, and Kurt Jacobson.

The Giant Instrument

This week C4DM Presents completed work on our sound installation for Shunt Lounge called the Giant Instrument. The concept is you play the instrument by moving in and out of these spotlights. We wanted to give the users a really fun interactive experience and sort-of recreate the feeling you get when you first learn to play a musical instrument. The work was a collaboration between Andrew Robertson, Adam Stark, Jean-Baptiste Thiebaut, Steve Welburn, and Kurt Jacobson. The team really came together and pulled off something great in a short time - exceeding all expectations. Chris Frauenberger and Stuart Battersby took some really great pics of the installation.
